(ANSAmed) – ROME, SEPTEMBER 14 – Immigration, inter-religious dialogue, law and international cooperation are the priorities of the Italian network for Euro-Mediterranean dialogue (Ride) that met in Rome, at the foreign ministry, on September 11.
During the meeting, which gathered Ride delegates in the assembly, the urgency to find solutions for refugees was stressed, putting on the agenda new welcoming policies.
The Assembly, which groups 124 associations and foundations, has also elected unanimously the directive council including seven voted members together with the four who have a right to a seat. Among them are: Foad Aodi, president of the Association of doctors of foreign origin in Italy (Amsi), of the Community of the Arab world in Italy (Co-mai) and the movement ‘United to Unite’, Salvatore Calleri, president of the Caponnetto Foundation, Giovanni Serra, president of the Social cooperative Dignity of Labor, Maria Amata Garito, dean of the international online university Uninettuno, Janiki Cingoli, director of the Italian center for peace in the Middle East (Cipmo), Enrico Molinaro, president of the association Mediterranean perspectives and Luigi De Luca, president of the Institute of Mediterranean cultures. Together with members of right – Michele Capasso, president of the Mediterranean Foundation, plenipotentiary minister Enrico Granara, coordinator of multilateral activities for the Mediterranean and the Middle East of the foreign affairs ministry, Roberto Russo for Fispmed Onlus and Marco Santangelo for the Paralleli institute North West – the new members will have to organize the Ride program 2015-2017.
In the same day, a note said, the Farnesina hosted the general assembly of the Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF), including 43 Euro-Mediterranean countries with the participation, among others, of Education Minister Stefania Giannini, Foreign Undersecretary Mario Giro, the Executive director and ALF President, Ambassador Hatem Atalla and Madame Elisabeth Guigou, as well as delegations of member states. (ANSAmed).
